Today, Cherish Our Children focuses on the GEMS Program (Gaining Empowerment for Middle Schoolers), a groundbreaking initiative for children with incarcerated family members. This program provides these middle schoolers with a safe space to communicate, share experiences, and build resilience. By intervening early, GEMS aims to disrupt the cycle of generational incarceration. With activities like summer camps, field trips to NASA, and visits to museums, GEMS exposes these children to possibilities far beyond their everyday experiences.
