We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Barry Terry following his journey with pancreatic cancer.
For those who knew Barry, it is difficult to capture in a few words who he was and the difference he made. Barry spent decades empowering people to discover new possibilities for their lives. As a Landmark Forum Leader, he touched thousands of people, not simply through what he said, but through the extraordinary stand he took for who people could be.
And that contribution continues.
Barry’s life is a powerful demonstration of what it can mean to live with purpose, generosity and a commitment to making a difference — even in circumstances none of us would choose.
That became especially visible following his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer. At a moment when it would have been completely understandable to turn his attention inward, Barry continued looking outward. He became deeply committed to supporting Teen Cancer America and to making a difference for young people facing cancer.
That was Barry.
Again and again, the question seemed to be not simply, What is happening to me? but Given what is happening, what can I contribute?
We had the privilege of sitting down with Barry for an episode of the Landmark Difference Makers Podcast. The conversation began with his experience of cancer and the project he had taken on, but it became something much more.
It is a conversation about life.
About contribution.
About what remains possible when circumstances are beyond our control.
And about the difference one human being can make simply through the way they choose to live.
